I know how you feel, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 non-small cell lung cacenr in May, they did radiation and chemo which got rid of the cacenr in her lung and lymph nodes in and between her lungs. But, it had spread into her bones and several other lymph nodes, they did more radiation and chemo but she and was only given a few months to live, that was in mid-august. I could not accept losing my mom who is only 43 so I did a lot of research and found what I feel is her best hope. Maybe a good option for your friend , too, there are a lot of Breast cacenr patients here as well. Also, while she is doing shemo look into interveneous vitamin C, you would probably have to do it through an alternative doctor, because mainstream doctors unfortunately are not well versed in natural supplements. I listed a few links for vitamin c info at the end.I am currently in the Bahamas with my mother. There is a clinic here that has been in operation for over 30 years. We have been here for 4 of our 8 week stay, everyday is really inspiring. A lot of the patients stick around in the meeting room/ waiting room to visit, and share stories and catch up. There are 40 people all talking and laughing, talking about cacenr and life. The returning patients talk about how bad their cacenr was 4, 8, 10, 18 even 28 years ago when they started coming to the clinic, the cacenr that has since disappeared. There is nothing dangerous or foreign to the treatment, just building up your immune system in a very effective manner that allows it to identify and fight the cacenr. If you want to know more contact me or go to I cannot tell you how impressed I am with what I have seen and how my mother has already improved. I know one man who was diagnosed with pancreatic cacenr, he skipped all US, conventional (poisonous, dangerous) options and went to the Bahamas and is doing great now. Another man who has been coming here for 18 years that had prostate cacenr. People with just about every type of cacenr. But, they are honest here, you send them your medical information and they will tell you whether they believe they can help you or not, and they will send you home if they don't think you are benefiting. My mom has shown drastic improvements and is feeling so much better. and we are in the Bahamas so we are having a good Mother-Daughter vacation. When we got here she was on 75 mg of morphine a day plus 6ml of liquid morphine a day, now she rarely takes any morphine, and only occasionally takes Advil. Some of the pain she does get is associated with tumor kill, it happens to most patients as their immune system begins quickly destroying the cacenr cells, it is a good thing. There are a lot of alternative treatments out there worth looking into. I have also done a lot of research on the Cesium Chloride/DMSO treatment and think that it has merit and you can do it at home. The clinic here believes that a supplement/liquid called VIBE works really well in addition to other treatments, I am going to look in to that some more. One very helpful website isUS doctors push chemo and radiation, but when you look at the statistics and side effects it is not a good option for most people. My Mom had both before we came here and now that I know more about them and have researched them I feel horrible that I let her go through them. She was lucky (so far) the only long term side effect she has shown is short term memory loss. The stories I have heard from the other patients here about how they were treated by US medicine astound me. One lady went home to have a shunt put in her liver so she would be ok to come here, but they refused to put it in unless she agreed to do chemotherapy, is that what our country is about? Denying helpful procedures unless we agree to dangerous, toxic ones? The drug companies run US medicine at least when it comes to cacenr treatment and it is sad. Most doctors will tell you not to try alternative medicine and some will refuse to even see you again if you do. To some degree they are not to blame, they have not been taught anything about it other than that it is evil and wrong and they would be rejected by their colleagues if they suggested alternatives.I am not saying that this will cure anyone, but I have seen dozens of people that it has helped and dozens more that are just starting, but already showing improvement. Please whatever you do, research first. I am so happy my mom is feeling better and I want to be able to help everyone else who's parent, sibling, child, friend or self has cacenr, I know how it feels to watch them get worse and watch the treatment make them more sick. Good luck!! My prayers are with your family.

I think your letter was very well written and hit the nail on the head.
Changing the banking systems in many, if not most of the countries

Dear Dr Georgiou,

I fully sympathize with your situation and fear that unless action is taken soon, a much larger part of the Cyprus population will suffer at the hands of the banks.

We are already seeing interest rates rising continuously using the economic crisis as a justification. Which other competitive business would raise its prices at a time of recession? Given that ECB base rates are at their lowest level, the banks should have lowered their interest rates not raised them? This alone is proof that the Cyprus banking sector is acting as a cartel and these actions should be outlawed by the Fair Trade and Competition Office. And since this is not happening, one must assume that their actions are receiving the blessings of our State Authorities.

We are indeed facing unprecedented economic times where economic decisions no longer follow economic models but rather political ones. It seems however that these political decisions are taken to favour the few at the expense of the majority.

WE need to speak out in peaceful protest and realise that with God's help we have the power to change our future for the better.

Dear Sir
I am very sorry for what happens with the Cypriots.Being a Belgian I took my money out of Cyrpus a year ago because I have no trust in this system here. Cyprus belongs to the EC but is still doing many things the way they like (f e humann rights), is NOT AT ALL trustfull and is still corrupt.
What the banks are doing now seems not illegal but is commercial suicide. Of course everybody knows that the banks(gouvernement) have to guarantee till100.000 euro per person, but this is only for current account and savings, not for other bankinvestments. Being a stranger I don t understand why you people don t know yet your own country, sorry for that.
As said I am sorry for what is happening and it is a suicide for the banks. They have a large number of foreign investors who will loose all trust in them and in Cyprus now and in the future.. Cyprus used to be a country for strangers to invest and it is that same country that cheates everybody in every way , Cypriots and strangers. Also they don t understand that you should never put all your eggs in the same basket, in this case Greece. That s the most dangerous thing to do and now everybody here has to suffer.
When will Cyprus ever be competent and stop acting like stupid kids for who there is only the present ?
I hope you find the right solutions
Kind regards

dear George,
thank you for sharing this unthinkable personal experience with us. Ethical standards are lost to the personal benefits of the Boards and the politicians. A lot of life savings were lost 10 years ago with the stock exchange bubble now the same story is repeated with the "sound financial system Cyprus". it seems that they "run" us us on a ten year cycle.
what do you suggest for a person with 1 miillion fixed deposits?
how can we respond to this injustice. Going through the legal is os expensive and time consuming?.
I think we carry on alerting people, as you did, and give "them" the message that we are much more inteligent than them.
Thank you George,
Yiannis

There was disbelief expressed when, 2 years ago, I went to my bank to transfer a newly matured investment to my current account. The manager told me "Sorry, we have withheld this investment until 2014. I told him that I had a contract telling me it matured in 2010. He said that the government had given permission for the money to be withheld until 2014 - and without informing the customer. There was seemingly nothing I could do, as it had already been allowed under new finance laws which had been withheld from the public.

Regarding safety of deposits: this is a joke. Many people believe that their cash is safeguarded from any crisis by government guarantees - at least part of it. How can a bankrupt government give any such guarantee: they have NO MONEY!!

The government in Spain pulled a great one here. They guaranteed personal money, but at the same time gave the government 100 years to pay...... and it is not transferable! How many of us will be alive to benefit from this wonderful guarantee? How many other governments have done the same thing without telling us?

That says it all.

And another thing: those in Europe with money invested in a foreign bank (ie. Deutsbank in Spain and Barclays in Cyprus) believe their money is guaranteed by Germany and the UK - or wherever the name is based. TOTALLY FALSE! These foreign banks are actually businesses using a foreign well known name but are actually companies in whatever country they are licensed and trading in, not their originating country. It is another bank trick to make us feel safe!
